APPRENTICE REFRIGERATION & AIR CONDITIONING MECHANIC

RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Alternate between on-the-job training and attending technical school to learn all aspects of the trade.
2. Assist in the assembly and installation of refrigeration or air conditioning components.
3. Assist in the measurement and lay out of reference points for installation.
4. Perform trouble shooting and test for leaks.
5. Perform routine maintenance and general checks.
6. Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS
Genuine interest in the trade or prior knowledge of Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Mechanics considered an asset. Willing to make a four-year commitment to the apprenticeship program. Must be able to follow directions and proper safety protocols while working. Must be customer focused and have the ability to work co-operatively with others. Must have a valid Class 5 driver’s licence and able to perform heavy lifting regularly. This position is classified as Safety Sensitive: therefore, is
subject to Pioneer Co-op’s Alcohol & Substance policy as a condition of employment.
